Why mindfulness and mind tools for leaders

The core qualities of presence, clarity and compassion are developed during this Programme using various techniques that are rooted in mindfulness and awareness. Well known and documented for its positive effects on wellbeing, the impact of mindfulness goes far beyond this. We consider improvements in wellbeing a happy side effect of our programme rather than the focus. 

Mindfulness has been shown to increase activity in areas of the brain related to executive function – allowing for greater attention, impulse control, working memory, cognitive flexibility and regulation of emotion.

These are the building blocks for strong leadership and positive work cultures, enabling improved clarity, communication and collaboration at every level.


For leaders that excel

This programme is for senior and middle leaders or whole teams. Already accomplished leaders, participants of our programmes value their growth and are willing to put in the work between sessions to get maximum benefit. Usually delivered in a small group setting, the programme has also been successfully delivered to individuals.

An adapted version of the programme is also suitable for aspiring leaders who want to develop higher-level leadership skills early in their career, for example, junior leaders or those on fast track development programmes.

Structure

Below is the standard programme structure, however this can be adapted, taking into account your organisation’s needs.

  • 7 x 1.5 hour weekly sessions
  • Re-grouping session 2-3 months later
  • Small group size to aid personalised learning, reflection and discussion
  • Acessible resources including recorded guidance to support technique development
  • An individual coaching session during the programme, to aid personalised learning

Andrew McNeil

The programme is designed and led by business leaders and mindfulness coaches Andrew McNeill and Annika Wager.

Together they have over 45 years experience in challenging leadership roles, Annika in pan-European project management and Andrew as a director in the UK Civil Service. They are both BAMBA accredited mindfulness trainers with extensive experience in organisational training, coaching and consultancy.
